CMIH Hub Seminar Series

Dr Gemma Bale, Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge

This seminar will be held in a hybrid format in MR12, Centre for Mathematical Sciences, CB3 0WA. Alternatively you can join by Zoom.

Gemma develops wearable, non-invasive optical brain monitoring tools based on near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) to measure brain oxygenation and metabolism in places where conventional brain imaging isn’t possible. In this talk, Gemma will present some of the applications of this technique, focussing on neonatal bran injury and dementia diagnosis, covering the engineering challenges and future directions of wearable brain imaging in naturalistic environments.

Date:
Wednesday, 1 March, 2023 - 13:00 to 14:00
Event location:
MR12, Centre for Mathematical Sciences/Zoom
