Cambridge Mathematics of Information in Healthcare

The EPSRC Cambridge Mathematics of Information in Healthcare Hub (CMIH) is an interdisciplinary collaboration between mathematics, statistics, computer science, and medicine, and aims to develop rigorous and clinically practical algorithms for analysing healthcare data in an integrated fashion.

The Hub is one of four funded by the EPSRC following a almost £5 million investment funding multidisciplinary research hubs that bring together the mathematical sciences with stakeholders in healthcare technologies. More specifically, researchers will strengthen collaborations between mathematics, healthcare and industry to inform and underpin the development of new mathematical approaches to healthcare problems.

The CMIH Hub will facilitate the close collaboration of mathematicians, clinicians, and relevant stakeholders to develop data analytics algorithms, focusing on the challenging healthcare problems that are Cancer, Cardiovascular Disease, and Dementia. A key aim of the Hub is to address the lack of robustness in AI algorithmic capabilities in preparation for their use in clinical decision making applications.
